Ambon, 29 October 2024 – Today, Seasoldier, in collaboration with PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) and PNM Ambon Branch, carried out coral reef transplantation activities at Morella Beach, Central Maluku. This initiative is the first step of Seasoldier Ambon’s main regional programme to rehabilitate marine ecosystems in Maluku and confirms their commitment to environmental conservation efforts that have a direct impact on the sustainability of local marine resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seasoldier itself is an independent organisation born out of personal concern for the environment, first initiated by Nadine Chandrawinata and Dinni Septianingrum on 28 March 2015. To date, Seasoldier has involved more than 10,000 volunteers in 17 regions across Indonesia who are committed to real and sustainable action. Seasoldier also collaborates with more than 50 different organisations and institutions. Seasoldier’s programmes focus on mangrove conservation, coral reef transplantation, seagrass conservation, tree and bamboo conservation, youth education through “Pondok Pemuda”, waste management programme “Bersihkan Warungku,” education programme “Seasoldier Junior,” various Clean Up actions, and others. These programmes are expected not only to preserve the environment but also to increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining the sustainability of nature through real action.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, on 26 October 2024, an environmental discussion was held as well as the inauguration of Seasoldier Ambon at The Gade Coffee Gold, Ambon. The event was attended by various environmental communities and local people who enthusiastically support various environmental conservation programmes in Maluku.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Ambon City, the capital of Maluku Province, is known for its 17.55 km\u00b2 ocean area out of a total area of 359.45 km\u00b2 and its underwater beauty. However, this potential is now threatened by various challenges, such as the climate crisis, irresponsible tourism, environmentally unfriendly fishing activities, and waste issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Hopefully, this activity will be a spark for Ambon’s youth in preserving the sea, because preserving the sea means it will have an impact on the economy, tourism, fisheries, and other good benefits,” said Dinni Septianingrum, Founder and COO of Seasoldier.<\/span><\/p>\n
