Semarang, 23 August 2026, marked an important moment in Seasoldier’s journey as it hosted the 3rd National Assembly (Munas III) at Grand Edge Hotel, Semarang, over two days, from 22-23 August 2026. Held every three years, this year’s National Assembly brought together the community to strengthen connections and collaboration across regions.
Launching Seasoldier Xperience: A Community-Based Approach
The gathering also marked the launch of the new eco-tourism program, “Seasoldier Xperience,” while providing a national platform for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and a space for community collaboration. Through the event, Seasoldier also encouraged the involvement of various stakeholders in efforts to protect and preserve the environment.

On the first day, MUNAS III opened with program reports from the central team and regional chapters, followed by the launch of Seasoldier Xperience. Seasoldier also created a space for regional representative to share the opportunities and challenges they encounter in their respective areas. Throughout the MUNAS, Ramon Y. Tungka and Medina Kamil also joined the sessions and engaged in discussions with participants.
These discussions were part of the effort to strengthen Seasoldier Xperience as a community-based program, taking into account the potential, needs, and local conditions of each area. As Nadine Chandrawinata, Founder and Executive Director of Seasoldier, highlighted, “Collaboration and a focus on local communities are important. We need local communities because they know best. You know the conditions where you live best.” The discussions and program reports were then followed by the development of action plans and the signing of the Seasoldier Xperience Program Memorandum of Understanding.

After the day’s full agenda was completed, the first day of MUNAS III concluded with a visit to PT Victoria Care Indonesia, where participants had the opportunity to take part in a factory tour, visit the factory’s wastewater treatment facility, explore the Oemah Herborist Museum, and shop for Herborist products. The visit was followed by a city tour of Semarang, where participants were invited to explore several of the city’s well-known landmarks, including Lawang Sewu, Simpang Lima, Tugu Muda, Kota Lama, and Gereja Blenduk.

Building Capacity Through Green Jobs and Creative Learning
On the second day, Seasoldier opened the MUNAS III to the general public, allowing participants to take part in the capacity-building workshop “Managing Green Organization for Green Jobs Opportunities” led by Morika Maryam, as well as the Miskha Project Workshop by Makaila Haifa.
Both workshops provided participants with new insights and knowledge while broadening their perspectives on career opportunities in the green jobs sector. Through the “Managing Green Organization for Green Jobs Opportunities” capacity-building workshop by Morinka Maryam, participants explored strategies for managing a green organization, preparing for careers in the green jobs sector, and understanding how sustainability actions can be developed into meaningful career opportunities for young people.

Meanwhile, the Miskha Project Workshop by Makaila Haifa invited participants to explore refugee-related social issues through art and creative processes, learn about upcycling and the reuse of materials, and discover ways to take meaningful action in support of social issues.

Exploring Innovation and Collaboration Through the Expo
Alongside the workshop sessions, participants also had the opportunity to explore the expo booths and gain a closer look at the diverse programs, initiatives, products, and innovations presented by Seasoldier Program Conservation, Seasoldier Merchandise, Regional Seasoldier, AI Waste Detection & Geospatial Technology by Seasoldier Ambon, Miskha Project by Makaila Haifa, PT Victoria Care Indonesia, Illing Project by Universitas Negeri Semarang, Potoyukk.id, and Marine Science, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang.

Sustainable Lifestyle: A Trend or a Necessity?
The highlight of the event was the Seasoldier Xperience Talkshow, themed “Sustainable Lifestyle: A Trend or a Necessity?” Moderated by Dinni Septianingrum, Founder and COO of Seasoldier, the talk show featured four speakers: Makaila Haifa Hida, Owner of Makaila Haifa; Nadine Chandrawinata, Founder and Executive Director of Seasoldier; Rinco Berlian, Sports Enthusiast; and Medina Kamil, Adventure Storyteller. The talk show provided a space to explore sustainability from different perspectives and experiences, from lifestyle and everyday activities to the way we interact with nature.

Through the talk show, Seasoldier opened a discussion on how sustainability can be reflected in the lifestyle choices we make every day. This included what we buy, use, and consume, how we enjoy nature, and how we take care of ourselves. The discussion invited participants to see that a sustainable lifestyle is not only about major choices, but also about the simple decisions we make every day.
“If earlier we talked about how care can be translated into habits, one of the habits closest to our everyday lives is how we choose and use clothing,” said Nadine Chandrawinata, Founder and Executive Director of Seasoldier.
From personal choices around fashion, the discussion moved toward how we interact with the places we visit. “If fashion is about what we wear, now we move on to how we interact with the place we visit,” said Hida, Owner of Makaila Haifa.
Sustainability is not only reflected in the products we choose and consume, but also in the type of content we consume. In today’s social media landscape, understanding which trends to follow can be an important part of maintaining healthy and sustainable habits, as content and storytelling can have a strong influence on audiences.
The discussions also touched on the influence of trends on our health and lifestyle choices. “The fitness world has many trends that come and go. How do we distinguish between trends and healthy habits that can truly be sustained in the long term?” said Rinco Berlian, a sports enthusiast.
Continuing the discussion on the strong influence of content and storytelling, what we consume through media not only shapes our lives as individuals, but can also influence the natural environment and the communities around us.
“If sustainability is present in the way we enjoy nature, it should also be present in the way we take care of ourselves. Because a sustainable lifestyle also means maintaining our health in the long term,” said Medina Kamil, Adventure Storyteller.
From Discussion to Action: Mangrove Planting in Mangunharjo
To close Munas III, Seasoldier held a mangrove planting activity at Mangunharjo Beach, Semarang. The activity was closely connected to the reason Semarang was chosen as the location for Munas III. The growing complexity of the climate, marine, and waste crises in Semarang is increasingly threatening the lives and livelihoods of coastal communities. One of the challenges is land subsidence, which affects Semarang at a rate of 10 cm per year. In response, the mangrove planting activity served as part of Seasoldier’s follow-up action to address the climate crisis in Semarang.

Strengthening Seasoldier’s Long-Term Collaboration
The MUNAS serves as part of Seasoldier’s commitment to strengthening the organization’s sustainability and fostering collaboration across regions, ensuring that conservation, planting, and monitoring, Seasoldier also prioritizes internal capacity building so that participants can actively contribute to conservation efforts and sustain organizational collaboration across regions.
Through MUNAS III, participants had a space to discuss and exchange ideas on organizational development and conservation. They also had the opportunity to learn about green jobs, sustainable lifestyles, and raising awareness of refugee issues through workshops, talk shows, and the available expo booths. These spaces for discussion and learning are expected to strengthen awareness of the importance of collaboration among different stakeholders in protecting the environment. Caring for the environment is a shared responsibility.
Seasoldier hopes that the commitment to collaboration fostered through the National Assembly will continue to encourage sustainable initiatives across Seasoldier’s regional chapters. Seasoldier believes these efforts can support the organization’s long-term sustainability and provide a foundation for community-based work at the local level.
Musyawarah Nasional III Seasoldier Xperience was made possible through the full support of Kekancan Group, Hotel Grand Edge Semarang, PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk., Mishka Project by Makaila Haifa, Reglow Skincare, Paradiso Transport, Pinnacle Pro, and others.
